(HMG) – Life imitating art, as Gossip Girl star, Chace Crawford who plays weed loving Nate Archibald,was busted early Friday in Plano, Tex. for marijuana possession.Ê The actor, 24, was arrested just past midnight in a Nissan parked outside Ringo’s Pub, carrying less than two ounces of the drug.Ê In case you were wondering what Chace was doing in Plano, he is a native of the Lone Star State, born in Lubbock and raised in Plano, so he was just revisiting his old stomping grounds and apparently just getting a buzz on. And if so mission accomplished.Ê An employee of Ringo’s pub tells E!online that the actor forgot to close his tab last night before getting busted in their parking lot. “He actually left his credit card here.”Ê Again in the life imitating art department, Chace plays a drug dealer: in his upcoming movie Twelve, which premiered at Sundance.

If I was to place a bet on which young Hollywood star was going to be arrested for possession, Chace Crawford wouldnÕt have even made my top ten list. Kristen Stewart would have been number one, actually - you know itÕs just a matter of time before the police come knocking on her door. But Chace? Mister IÕm-A-Perfect-Texas-Gentleman? Eh. Of course there were signs that he was a bit more hardcore in real life. He and Ed Westwick were roommates for several years. And Chace dated Shauna Sand. That should prove heÕs capable of anything:

The Gossip Girl actor, 24, was cuffed just past midnight in a Nissan parked outside Ringo’s Pub, carrying less than two ounces of the drug.

TMZ reports that the star — a native Texan who now lives in NYC — was with a friend when cops discovered one unlit marijuana joint.

Bail was quickly posted for Crawford on his misdemeanor charge.

Crawford’s rep had no comment on the incident.

Ironically, Crawford plays a drug dealer named White Mike in the upcoming film Twelve, in theaters July 2.

One joint? POTHEAD! Seriously, one motherf-cking joint? ThatÕs kind of sad that he got busted. Maybe itÕs a Texas thing - hardcore cops who will bust a guy over one joint - and he wasnÕt even smoking it, it was just in his pocket or his car or whatever. IÕm also shocked itÕs a misdemeanor - but thatÕs just my view of Texas. In my mind, they throw you in jail forever over something like one joint. Long-term, though, the pot bust might even help ChaceÕs image. It gives the pretty boy a sense of danger.

Crawford was apparently busted with a friend in the parking lot of a bar just after midnight yesterday and the police found one unlit joint in the car. He was booked and then released on bond.

Oh, Chase - just because Nate Archibald can get away with smoking up in Central Park, it doesn't mean you can do it in public too.

Poor kid. This story sucks. Dude gets some free time to go home and chill with friends and the local cops arrest him for having what amounts to about one joint on his person.

Here’s what happened:

The bust went down while Crawford and a buddy were chilling in a ‘03 Nissan outside of Ringo’s Pub. (There’s no word on the friend’s identity, but it’s safe to say it was not Mexican travel buddy Tony Romo.)

Police allege he had less than 2 ounces of pot on him. One source tells E! News it was just a single joint. Crawford managed to spring himself just after 1 a.m., albeit not before leaving the Internet with that gift that keeps on giving, a celeb mug shot.
